The Healthcare Solutions group was established 18 months ago.

Microsoft have recently acquired a novel Healthcare software system from a leading hospital in Washington, which offers physicians a new and improved way of accessing all clinical and financial data from the entire healthcare environment. The new system is already being recognised as hugely beneficial and of value within a number of leading hospitals in the US. Microsoft is now looking to build a team to further develop and bring this unique product to Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

The new team’s mission will be to incubate the business in EMEA, identifying, creating and developing a customer base from which Microsoft can grow, resulting in the development of a profitable vertical business unit.

Your key role in the new business will be to connect with the medical community within the target countries (UK and Germany) to present and discuss the systems with senior physicians and key opinion leaders. Part of your role will be to engage with the clinical bodies, regulatory groups and to present at hey industry and medical healthcare forums.

Finally, and importantly, you will play a crucial role in providing feedback to the Microsoft development teams on the unique requirements for any specific country and advise the implementation team on specific clinical processes and needs.

Essential Job Functions

  • Present, discuss and sell the value of Azyxxi application to the senior medical community within a hospital or hospital group
  • Develop an understanding and knowledge of a country's medical community, establishing the key areas of influence.
  • Connect with the clinical standards bodies within a country to ensure that the Azyxxi solution adheres to their clinical data standards, security, privacy and interoperability requirements.
  • Working with the EMEA and WW Health Solutions Group provide the clinical insight from a particular sales opportunity through to the overall market analysis.
  • Represent HSG at key medical conferences and take up specific presenting opportunities.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Support and lead a team comprising Specialist Sales Executives, Technical Specialists’ and implementation Specialists.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of product development requirements, as fed back from customers, and communicate this information with the development team.
  • Develop plan, strategy and approach to establish the Azyxxi product within three primary regions.
  • Oversee staff to assure delivery of project objectives on time, with the required quality and on budget by allocating work, monitoring progress against project plans, reviewing staff performance and providing medical/technical guidance and oversight.
  • Ensure that the correct project teams are being established to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge in the area of Life Science/Healthcare sectors that may impact Microsoft’s current or future business.
  • Maintain an active role in the medical/professional community through presentations, publications and participation in national and international meetings and conferences
  • Support Account Management, proposal development and client bid defence meetings, participate in marketing activities
  • Provide leadership in the development, implementation and monitoring of departmental operating goals.
  • Assume the role of Medical/Technical Lead on selected projects when required in accordance with Microsoft’s policies and Procedures.

    A medical degree
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience, CRO experience or company providing software services or solutions to the healthcare industry
  • Profound knowledge of all aspects of EMEA medical practices and in particular the activities and pressures within an emergency department.
  • A broad clinical and medical background and a comprehensive understanding of the medical aspects of patient management and how software solutions can impact this.

    Qualifications
  • Seasoned professional, who has been a practicing medic with experience in a number of hospitals within Western Europe, as well as, experience of selling/promoting IT Healthcare solutions.
